Apple Releases 128GB iPad with Retina Display

Finally, Apple has announced that it will be selling iPads with 128GB of internal storage starting February 5!

This is good news especially for those who think that a 64GB iPad is not good enough. But who needs such big internal storage? Well, if you are into saving and watching FullHD movies in your iPad and collecting as many as possible, then you would need a storage bigger than 64GB. I believe that 128GB is more than enough for virtually all iPad users.

The fourth-gen 128GB iPad will not replace any of the already established storage capacity options of the slate but will be sold alongside them. The 128GB iPad with Retina Display will go on sale on February 5 and follows the usual Apple pricing scheme adding $100 more on top of the 64GB model. The 128GB Wi-Fi version of the iPad will retail for $799, while the Wi-Fi + LTE version will be going for $929. Pricing of the 16GB, 32GB and 64GB iPad remains unchanged at $499, $599 and $699 for the Wi-Fi model, respectively.

RIM Renames Itself BlackBerry

Research In Motion (RIM), the maker of BlackBerry smartphones, did not just introduce a new OS and new smartphones, it also ushered in a new brand identity. Speaking in New York during the BlackBerry 10 launch event, CEO Thorsten Heins announced that RIM will now be known as BlackBerry. The company has also changed its ticker symbol from RIMM to BBRY and introduced a new tagline, "One brand, one promise." The company will showcase the new name in an upcoming SuperBowl ad.

Beyonce Rocks the Super Bowl XLVII Halftime Show

In 2011, it was The Black Eyed Peas. Last year, it was the Queen of Pop, Madonna. This year, it's none other than one of this planet's best entertainers...Beyonce.

Not only did she rock the Super Bowl stadium, she also brought with her fellow Destiny's Child members Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams. I just couldn't contain my excitement after seeing all three of them performed on stage once again. Destiny fulfilled!


While Beyonce's performance was flawless, I couldn't help but think that some parts of her performance may be lipsynced using a pre-recorded track, to make it seem LIVE of course. Well, it doesn't matter that much since Madonna lipsynced her entire performance last year. I'm just so happy to see them all together performing their hits like Bootylicious, Independent Women, and even Beyonce's very own Single Ladies.

With all the theatrics and visual effects, this was one hell of a performance! How about you guys? What did you think of her performance? Did you like it?

Windows Phone 7.8 Update Rolls Out to Lumia Handsets

After a long wait, the Windows Phone 7.8 update is now available to Nokia Lumia smartphone users. As expected, it will be available to all Lumia handsets running on Windows Phone 7. These include Lumia 510, Lumia 610, Lumia 710, Lumia 800, and Lumia 900. Users of the aforementioned devices should be receiving notification for the new OS version's availability in the coming weeks. The update can be installed via Microsoft Zune desktop software (for Windows) and through Windows Phone Mac App (for Mac).

Windows Phone 7.8 brings a lot of cosmetic upgrades and bug fixes. These include a brand new homescreen with more customization options, camera extras, and a host of performance enhancements. The Windows Phone 7.8 upgrade will be seeding through February. Its exact availability around the world will be carrier dependent.

Happy #DuoValentines from Nestle Drumstick Duo!

Valentine's Day is indeed just around the corner...

Something special has been delivered to my doorstep last Saturday afternoon (Feb 2). It was from Nestle Philippines. I was lucky enough to have been tweeted by Nestle Drumstick PH (@DrumstickPH) the day before that...and voila! The goodies have arrived.


I was given a bouquet made using Nestle drumstick wrappers. Very ingenious and creative indeed! But it doesn't end there. It also contains a Nestle Drumstick pin, some t-shirts, and an SM e-Plus Loyalty Card. And yes, 5 pieces of Nestle Drumstick Duos! I'm just so excited to try them. They look oh-so yummy. They come in two delicious flavors: chocolate and strawberry. Really perfect for Valentine's Day!


Good things really come to those who wait...but wait I didn't ask for all these...Perhaps, surprises really come when you least expect it. By the way, the shirts below are just so cute. And the SM e-Plus Loyalty Card? It's loaded with PhP500, which can be used at any SM Cinema outlet. It also entitles the card-bearer to a gazillion discounts from partner merchants. What more can I ask for?

What's Your New Year's Resolution?

I asked my readers: What is your New Year's resolution? They have spoken and the votes are all in. With a total of 38 votes, with only 5 of the 8 choices checked, most of my readers have agreed that they want to lose weight this year. That's 44% of the total number of votes.


This is actually not surprising as almost everyone I know wants to be fitter and healthier this year. Seriously, every year we want to be able to fit in those skinny jeans and look taller and more appealing. I hope most of us get to accomplish this lifelong dream.

Runner up is finding love with 23% of the total number of votes. Looking for a potential partner is indeed hard. People go out on dates, search through social networking sites, attend social events but still end up single in the end. Why is it so hard to find that special someone? This explains why lovelife placed second this year.

There's a triple tie for the third spot: quit bad habits like smoking, drinking, drugs, work harder, and save more. I'm not surprised as well with these results. But I really think that saving more is necessary these days. You'll never know what's gonna happen tomorrow.
