Alcatel Launches OneTouch Idol S and Idol Mini

Alcatel continues to expand its range of Android smartphone offerings. The company recently launched the OneTouch Idol S and OneTouch Idol Mini, both of which feature a very slim profile at 7.4 mm and 7.9 mm, respectively.

The midrange OneTouch Idol S features a 4.7-inch IPS display with a resolution of 720 x 1,280 pixels. It is powered by a dual-core processor clocked at 1.2 GHz along with 1GB RAM and sports an 8-MP rear camera capable of recording 1080p Full HD  videos at 30fps. It has a 1.3-MP front camera and runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. There is also 4GB of internal memory on-board and a microSD card slot for further expansion. It also offers several connectivity features and will be available in Slate, Fresh Rose and Cherry Red color options.

On the other hand, the OneTouch Idol Mini is an entry level smartphone with a 4.3-inch display and a resolution of 480 x 854 pixels. The smartphone packs a 1.3 GHz dual-core processor, 512MB RAM, 5-MP rear camera and 4GB inbuilt memory with microSD card support. The Idol Mini runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and comes with HSPA+, Wi-Fi, A-GPS, and Bluetooth 4.0. The Idol Mini will have a dual-SIM variant as well. Both variants will come in 3 different color options - Cranberry Pink, Silver and Slate. There are no details yet on the pricing and the availability of both smartphones.
