Gino's Brick Oven Pizza is an Italian restaurant located at The Podium in Ortigas. They have branches in Katipunan, Quezon City and Salcedo Village in Makati City as well.
As you may have guessed, pizza is their specialty and main offering but they also serve pasta and burrata. They are seemingly obsessed with cheese and honey as well.
The entire restaurant can
probably accommodate about 50 or more individuals. It is
air-conditioned and has an old-school, classic feel to it. Everything's made of wood and features earth colors. There are also plants hanging on the wall. The drop lights are cool as well. They also have this coffee-shop-like blackboard where one can find some of the dishes they are offering. There's no washroom inside, which is a bummer. The waiters are
very accommodating and knowledgeable about the menu as well.
We ordered burrata caprese as appetizer. I had no idea what it was until it was served to us. It's basically cheese like kesong puti but with pesto, basil, and tomatoes. It tastes okay but I wasn't a fan. For the main course, we ordered 2 pizzas and 2 pasta dishes. For the pizza, we ordered SMEGG (sausage, mushroom, eggs) and Bacon Gouda. We were surprised at how generous the servings were for the pizza. I didn't like SMEGG probably because of its scrambled egg top, which I'm not a fan of. The Bacon Gouda, on the other hand, was good. Bacon and honey were a perfect combination. As for the 2 pasta dishes we ordered - tomato basil pasta and lemon mushroom pasta - the serving size was really small, considering they're not really cheap. The Tomato Basil pasta was flavorful. The Lemon Mushroom pasta tasted okay but not really my favorite. We also ordered their dalandan iced tea for drinks. This one was really yummy. In fact, we ordered two pitchers. It's a must try.
