Restaurant Review: VASK Modern Tapas & Gastronomic Cuisine
VASK is a fine dining restaurant situated at the posh Bonifacio Global City. It offers modern and traditional menu choices of Spanish tapas, inspired by flavors of the Basque country in Spain. The name VASK came from Spain's Basque Country, which is called PaĆs Vasco in Spanish. The Spanish dialect prefers the use of K so they named the restaurant VASK to refer to Modern Basque Cuisine.Image by VASK |
Obviously, it is pricey since it is a luxury dining restaurant. When it comes to the menu items, many of which are alien to me, good thing there is an English translation in parenthesis. For appetizers, I got the Foie Gras on Mango Toast and Mejillon Tigre. Both tasted really good and were presented nicely.

For the main course, we had the option to choose which ones we like. I chose Tomate Relleno sobre Risotto de Semola de Setas and Solomillo con Remolacha y Bacon. I didn't like the stuffed tomato as it came with onions inside although the risotto is scrumptious. The tenderloin was perfect.

As for the dessert, we were served Tarta de Calamansi Deconstruida and Extra Olive Chocolate Truffle. Both did not really taste good. The sour taste of calamansi was just overpowering the sweetness of the macaron. Interestingly, the chocolate truffle was not sweet. Overall, some of their menu items were good but the others were not. Considering the high price tag, I don't think it's worth spending money on.
