Huawei Unveils Ascend G7 & Ascend Mate 7
At IFA 2014, Huawei announced two new phablets: the flagship grade Ascend Mate 7 and the midrange Ascend G7. The Ascend Mate 7 is big, measuring 157 mm x 81 mm x 7.9 mm and weighs 185g. However, Huawei has managed to make it slim and with almost zero side bezels. It packs a 6-inch LTPS display with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. This translates to a pixel density of 368 ppi. It is powered by a Hisilicon Kirin 925 SoC with “8+1” cores. The additional core is a Tensilica HiFi3 Auto DSP (digital signal processor), which paves way for high-fidelity, dedicated audio processing. The Ascend Mate 7 will come in 2 variants: one with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage, and another one with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. Both variants will have a 13-MP rear camera and a 5-MP front camera. There is also a fingerprint scanner at the back of the phablet a la HTC One Max. This fingerprint scanner can unlock the device 80% faster than competing devices with just one touch. Under the hood lies a 4,100 mAh Li-Polymer battery, which also has an Ultra Power Saving Mode feature like in the Samsung Galaxy S5. Connectivity-wise, it will have Cat.6 LTE or LTE-A. The Huawei Ascend Mate 7 will run on Android 4.4 KitKat with Huawei's proprietary EMUI 3.0 on top. As far as pricing goes, the 2GB RAM/16GB variant will cost 499 euros while the 3GB RAM/32GB will cost 599 euros.Image by PhoneArena |
