BQ Aquaris E4.5 Smartphone Packs Ubuntu OS

The Ubuntu OS is now officially available in the market. The BQ Aquaris E4.5, which first launched with Android KitKat, now has an Ubuntu Edition, and is considered to be the first commercially available smartphone to sport the Ubuntu OS. In terms of specs, the Aquaris E4.5 is considered entry-level as it comes with just a 4.5-inch IPS display of qHD resolution. It is powered by a MediaTek chipset with Cortex-A7 CPU clocked at 1.3GHz, 1GB RAM, and 8GB of expandable internal storage. It is a dual-SIM smartphone too but connectivity maxes out at 3G and HSPA. It has a decent battery capacity of 2,150 mAh. Moreover, it measures 137 mm x 67 mm x 9 mm and weighs 123 grams. The Ubuntu OS features content-grouped tabs instead of app grids and has this innovative Scopes interface, which learns from previous experience and aggregates user-specific content in easy to navigate panes. The BQ Aquaris E4.5 Ubuntu Edition is now available online for €170 in European markets. Any takers?

Til then...
