HTC Launches 4 New LTE-Capable Desire Smartphones

HTC just refreshed its lineup of affordable Desire smartphones in the United States. They include the Desire 626, which was previously launched in China, the Desire 626s, the Desire 526, and the Desire 520. All four smartphones are powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 chipset with Adreno 304 GPU, comes with an 8-MP rear camera capable of recording 720p HD videos, supports LTE, packs a 2,000 mAh battery, and runs Android 5.1 Lollipop with the latest HTC Sense UI on top (complete with BlinkFeed and HTC Themes). All smartphones will be offered by US carriers like AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon Wireless and will also be available in prepaid form at Boost Mobile, Cricket, MetroPCS, Sprint Prepaid, Tracfone, and Virgin Mobile USA.

The HTC Desire 626 has the best specs among the four smartphones as it comes with a 5-inch display of 720p HD resolution, 1.5GB RAM, 16GB of expandable internal storage, and a 5-MP front-facing camera. While the Desire 626s looks similar on the outside, it only has 1GB RAM, 8GB of expandable internal storage, and a 2-MP front-facing shooter.

Meanwhile, the HTC Desire 526 packs a smaller 4.7-inch display of qHD (960 x 540 pixels) resolution but matches the 1.5GB RAM of the Desire 626. It has a more limited 8GB of internal storage, which can be expanded via a microSD card. Its front-facing camera tops out at 2-MP. At the bottom of the Desire family tree is the Desire 520, which comes with a puny 4.5-inch display of FWVGA (854 x 480 pixels) resolution, 1GB RAM, 8GB of internal storage, and a 2-MP front-facing shooter.
