BlackBerry Launches 9720 w/c Runs on BB OS 7.1

For a troubled company like BlackBerry, launching a smartphone with a dated OS is not a good move. But BlackBerry still pushes through with the idea. The Canadian-based company just announced the BlackBerry 9720, which is basically an entry-level QWERTY device from the manufacturer. It features a 2.8-inch HVGA touchscreen and a QWERTY keyboard. It will run on the dated Blackberry OS 7.1, which makes the 9720 a leftover model.

Hopefully, such smartphone will still have a following, specifically those who are in need of an affordable QWERTY smartphone, which the market lacks nowadays. Of course, the BlackBerry 9720 still has BBM going for it. It sports an 800MHz CPU with 512MB RAM. It will also be powered by a 1,450 mAh battery, which is good for up to 7 hours of talk time.


The BlackBerry 9270 will be released in Asia, EMEA, and Latin America amd will come in five colors. Accessories will be available at launch too. Do you think this is one of the last phones that BlackBerry will be releasing?
