Acer Unveils Liquid S2 Flagship Device

A new flagship device has been released by Acer. It is the Liquid S2 phablet. It is the first publicly available device to record in the new ultra high definition (UHD) 4K format.

The Acer Liquid S2 packs a 6-inch FullHD display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It has a pixel density of 367 ppi. It measures 166 mm x 86 mm x 9 mm. It is powered by a Qualcomm MSM8974 Snapdragon 800 chipset with Quad-core 2.2 GHz Krait 400, Adreno 330, and 2GB RAM. It has 16GB of inbuilt storage and expandable through a microSD card of up to 128GB.

As for imaging, its main camera maxes out at 13-MP and packs a 28mm wide angle lens with a back-side illuminated sensor. As mentioned, it is the first smart device to capture 4K UHD video at 24fps. It's also capable of 1080p Full HD videos at 60fps, which easily turn into slow motion videos. Another unique feature of the Liquid S2 is its quad-LED ring flash around the camera lens, which includes a diffuser that helps immensely when recording in low-light at close range. A 2-MP front-facing camera takes care of video calls and selfies.

It runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. It has a wide range of connectivity options which include Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac, DLNA, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 4.0, microUSB port, GPS receiver with A-GPS and GLONASS, 3.5mm audio jack, and NFC. It is also 4G LTE-ready. Battery is rated at 3,300 mAh.
