Sony Xperia E4 and E4 Dual Now Official

First seen from leaks, the Sony Xperia E4 is finally official. Going by its name, it seems to be the successor to last year's Xperia E3. The Xperia E4 packs a larger display than its predecessor - 5 inches to be exact but of qHD (960 x 540) resolution. It will also be the first Sony smartphone to come with Android 5.0 Lollipop.

Ticking inside the Xperia E4 is a MediaTek MT6582 chipset with four Cortex-A7 cores and a Mali-400MP2 GPU. There is 1GB RAM and 8GB of expandable internal storage as well. Imaging-wise, there is a 5-MP rear camera with LED flash and a 2-MP front-facing shooter. In terms of connectivity, the Xperia E4 has got 3G HSPA, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, and FM Radio covered but it does not have LTE support. However, it has a dual-SIM variant called the Xperia E4 Dual.


There's no info yet on pricing and availability but the smartphone is expected to be very affordable if Sony wants to get a significant market share.
