HTC Grip: Fitness Band Developed by Under Armour

HTC has partnered with Under Armour in developing its first fitness tracker and wearable called the HTC Grip. It is a contoured smartband packing a 1.8-inch curved AMOLED display of 32 x 169 pixel resolution. It runs on Under Armour's UA Record platform and is compatible with smartphones running on Android 4.3 and iOS 7 or above. It has an IP57 rating for some water and dust resistance but also has a MIL-STD-810G rating for shock resistance. It packs a 100 mAh battery that can last for up 2.5 days on a single charge.

Aimed at fitness enthusiasts and athletes, the HTC Grip has a built-in GPS receiver that can track your run and cycling exercises. It also has a sleep tracker. Among the smorgasbord of sensors it contains are accelerometer, gyroscope, compass, and light sensor. Sadly, it does not have a heart rate sensor. It will hit the North American market soon and will be available in Deep Teal and Lime color variants. It will also come in three sizes: small, medium, and large. Its price is rather steep at $199.
