The Xiaomi Mi 4i has just been announced in New Delhi India. It looks like a cross between the Mi 4 and the Redmi 2. Actually, it is a more affordable version of the Mi 4 and it comes with a polycarbonate unibody instead of metal. Like its more expensive sibling, the Mi 4i packs a 5-inch OGS IPS display of 1080p Full HD resolution resulting in a pixel density of 441 ppi. The display panel comes with adaptive brightness technology called Sunlight display, which improves its legibility when outdoors.

While the Mi 4 came with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset, the Mi 4i gets a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 instead. It's an octa-core chip with four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.7GHz and the other four cores at 1.1GHz. There is an Adreno 405 GPU, 2GB RAM and 16GB of non-expandable native storage. Imaging-wise, the Xiaomi Mi 4i sports a 13-MP f/2.0 primary camera with dual-tone LED flash and HDR capabilities. There's also a 5-MP f/1.8 front-facing unit with the Beautify function.

In terms of connectivity, the Xiaomi Mi 4i offers dual-SIM slots with
4G support on both of them. There's also dual-band MU-MIMO Wi-Fi
a/b/g/n/ac support, Bluetooth 4.1 and a microUSB 2.0 port. It packs a larger 3,120 mAh battery than the Mi 4 considering it is smaller and lighter than the latter. The Mi 4i measures 138.1 mm x 69.6 mm x 7.8 mm and
weighs in at 130 grams. It will run Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box with MIUI 6 on top. The midrange smartphone will come in a variety of colors: white, black, blue, yellow and pink.
To make the Xiaomi Mi 4i an even better offering compared to competing models, it will cost about $200 and will be available on Flipkart.
