Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 w/ Fingerprint Scanner

Xiaomi has unveiled the third iteration of its Redmi Note series - the Redmi Note 3. It sports an all-metal build, which is a first for Xiaomi, but its design language is somewhat similar to those seen in competing Meizu devices. At 8.65 mm, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 is not that thick either. It packs a 5.5-inch display of 1080p Full HD resolution, protected by Gorilla Glass. It is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio X10 chipset with 2GB/3GB RAM and 16GB/32GB of non-expandable internal storage.

In the camera department, it comes with a 13-MP primary snapper with phase detection auto-focus and dual-tone, dual-LED flash, and a 5-MP selfie shooter. Keeping its lights on is a large 4,000 mAh battery. It is dual-SIM, with the two SIM card slots being LTE-compatible. It also has a fingerprint scanner, also a first for Xiaomi, at the back just beneath the camera. It runs MIUI 7 based on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 will be available initially only in China but will most likely sell in the future in markets like India and other parts of Asia. The 16GB variant will cost $140 while the 32GB variant will set you back $172. Xiaomi's new phablet will be available in silver, gold, dark gray colors.
