Xiaomi Mi 5 Posts Record-Breaking Antutu Score

Taking the MWC stage for the first time, Xiaomi has unveiled the highly anticipated Mi 5. But the Xiaomi Mi 5 is not just one phone. It has three different versions: the Standard Edition, High Edition, and the Ceramic Exclusive. The first two are made with a mixture of metal and glass while the latter is made with ceramic. Also conspicuous is that all three versions have curved rear edges a la Galaxy Note 5 and the recently announced Galaxy S7/S7 Edge.

Regardless of the version, the Mi 5 comes with a 5.15-inch display of 1080p Full HD resolution (no Quad HD here), which is protected by Gorilla Glass 4. Ticking inside is a 64-bit quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset with 3GB RAM (for the Standard & High Editions) or 4GB RAM (for the Ceramic Exclusive) and 32GB of UFS 2.0 internal storage (for the Standard Edition) or 64GB (for the High Edition) or 128GB (for the Ceramic Exclusive). Interestingly, the Xiaomi Mi 5 Ceramic Exclusive posted a record-breaking 140,000+ points in Antutu, easily defeating the newly announced LG G5 and Samsung Galaxy S7.

In the camera department, the Mi 5 is packed with a 16-MP primary camera with an IMX280 sensor, dual-tone, dual-LED flash and 4-axis optical image stabilization (OIS). It is capable of shooting 4K videos. In front is a 4-MP camera with 2.0 micron pixels. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, LTE, and USB Type-C. And everything is powered by a 3,000 mAh battery. The Standard Edition will cost $300 while the High Edition will set you back $350. The top of the line variant will retail for about $400, which is not bad for a flagship smartphone.
