The story goes like this: Set, the merciless god of darkness, has taken over the throne of Egypt and plunged the once peaceful and prosperous empire into chaos and conflict. Few dare to rebel against him. A young thief, whose love was taken captive by the god, seeks to dethrone and defeat Set with the aid of the powerful god Horus.

Gods of Egypt is of adventure and fantasy genre, which runs for approximately 127 minutes. It's Rated PG-13 in most countries for fantasy violence and action, and some sexuality. It's an entertaining film with lots of action scenes and computer generated imagery (CGI). I must say that it is almost at par with Avatar's graphics. The main actors were good particularly Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Gerard Butler but I think some were badly miscast - the others gods and goddesses. The storyline is easy to follow but very predictable. But it's otherwise, a well-made film. I would watch it more than once given the chance. Ultimately, the film would definitely appeal to those who are fascinated with Egypt's history and culture. And then those who liked films such as The Mummy, 300, Clash of the Titans, and Percy Jackson. I highly recommend you see it.
