Movie Review: Scary Movie 5

Banking on the success of its previous franchises, Scary MoVie, or Scary Movie 5, is comedy movie that attempts to be funny, scary, and relevant all at the same time. Starring Simon Rex and Ashley Tisdale, with Charlie Sheen and Lindsay Lohan appearing through cameo, the movie is bound to be a success...or maybe not. I guess you should see the movie to really see what I'm talking about....not!


The story goes like this: Happily-married couple Dan and Jody begin to notice some bizarre activity once they bring their newborn baby Aiden home from the hospital. But when the chaos expands into Jody's job as a ballet dancer and Dan's career as an Ape researcher, they realize their family is being stalked by a nefarious demon. Together, with the advice of certified experts and the aid of numerous cameras, they must figure out how to get rid of it before it's too late.

I must say that this movie is pure crap. I didn't even know why I watched it. Some spoofing might be funny but the acting and the effects were all flat. Rated R-16 in the Philippines, I don't even know why it was given that rating. The more the movie tries to be funny, the more it becomes corny and trying hard. There's not much to say about the movie, aside from being it being a waste of time and money.
