Movie Review: Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones

Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones is a spin-off of the Paranormal Activity horror movie franchise. It is also the fifth installment of the series. It is directed by Christopher Landon and distributed by Paramount Pictures. Commercially, it could be the least successful among the five Paranormal Activity films.

paranormal activity: the marked ones

The story goes like this: Jesse begins experiencing a number of disturbing and unexplainable things after the death of his neighbor. As he investigates, it isn't long before Jessie finds he's been marked for possession by a malevolent demonic entity, and it's only a matter of time before he is completely under its control.

Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones is of horror, thriller genre, which runs for approximately 84 minutes. It's rated R/R-18 in most countries for pervasive language, some violence, graphic nudity, and some drug use. It is nothing like the first four installments of the film. To be honest, this is the first Paranormal Activity film that I did not really like. The cameras were very shaky that could induce headache and nausea. The acting of the cast was very dry as well. The effects used were not at par with the previous installments. There's too much gore and blood. Also, in the end, there was a poor attempt to connect the movie to the first four films. You better see it and tell me what you think of it.

RATING: 3 out of 5 STARS
