Restaurant Review: Tipsy Pig

Tipsy Pig is one of the first five restaurants that can be found in Capitol Commons. Since it is a gastropub, one can expect high-end beer and dishes from the restaurant. Their dishes vary by cuisine but many have American and Filipino influences. Tipsy Pig may look like a typical restaurant by day but it transforms into a bar at night, especially during the wee hours. For now, it is arguably the best restaurant in Capitol Commons.

The entire restaurant (including the tables and chairs outside) can probably accommodate about 100 or more individuals. It is air-conditioned but the lighting is a bit dim, probably because it is a pub. Inside, it has a high ceiling. Everything seems to be made of wood. They also have long tables for large groups of people who may want a feast. There's a powder room for both men and women. The waiters are very accommodating and knowledgeable about the menu as well.

House Blend Iced Tea
We ordered crispy sisig tacos, southern fried chicken with mashed potato and corn, rigatoni pasta with shrimp, crispy pata, and house blend iced tea for drinks. All of their dishes are for sharing. The crispy sisig tacos were so good as an appetizer. The southern chicken is good as well but is somewhat common. The mashed potato that came with it is unbelievably yummy. The rigatoni pasta is okay since it has this unique spicy, curry-like flavor but is nothing spectacular. The crispy pata would normally come glazed with this sweet sauce. We had it separated upon ordering since the sweet glaze did not taste good but the crispy pata was yummy on its own. The house blend iced tea did not taste like an iced tea at all and we didn't like it either.

Tipsy Pig is perfect for families, young professionals, and group of friends who like good food with beer. Budget needed is about PhP500 per person on average. They accept cash and credit card transactions. They are open daily from 4:00 PM to 4:00 AM. They accept reservations, walk-ins, and take-outs. I don't really recommend that you just walk in especially at night as most of the tables would have been already reserved. There is also an option to eat outside the resto (al fresco). Parking is available at the open parking and at the basement of the newly opened Estancia Mall.
