Commodore PET Smartphone Comes w/ Retro Games

Commodore Business Machines Ltd has launched an Android Lollipop-running smartphone called PET. From those who are not familiar with the brand Commodore, it used to be famous for its 8-bit Commodore 64 desktop PC in the 1980s, which sold more than 10 million units. Now, the company behind it is creating smartphones to be sold in Europe and the Americas.

The Commodore PET runs a custom version of Android Lollipop with two retro game emulators pre-installed: a VICE C64 emulator and a Uae4All2-SDL Amiga emulator. These emulators should allow users to play retro games on the smartphone. The Commodore PET packs a 5.5-inch IPS OGS display of 1080p Full HD resolution and is a powered by a 64-bit octa-core MediaTek processor with 2GB/3GB RAM and 16GB/32GB of expandable storage. Imaging-wise, there is a 13-MP rear camera with LED flash and an 8-MP front-facing shooter for video calls and selfies. Connectivity-wise, Bluetooth, FM Radio, Wi-Fi, LTE, and dual-SIM support are all on board. A 3,000 mAh battery will keep the smartphone's lights on. Pricing starts at $300 for the 2GB/16GB variant and goes up to $365 for the 3GB/32GB variant. A free 32GB microSD card is included in the package. The Commodore PET will come in several colors including black, white, beige, blue, green, etc.
