French smartphone manufacturer Archos unveiled a rugged, water-resistant smartphone called the Archos 50 Saphir. With its IP68 certification, the smartphone can survive 1 meter drops and up to 30 minutes under water at depths of not more than a meter. It is also dust resistant. Apart from that, the Archos 50 Saphir also comes with a behemoth 5,000 mAh battery that should provide up to 2 days of battery life.

Aside from the waterproofing and large battery pack, everything else is standard affair. The Archos 50 Saphir comes with a 5-inch IPS display of 720p HD resolution. Under the hood is a quad-core MediaTek MTK6737 processor with 2GB RAM and 16GB of expandable internal storage. In terms of photography, there's a 13-MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5-MP selfie shooter. LTE and dual-SIM connectivity are also supported. Running near stock Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box, the Archos 50 Saphir will retail for $220 in Europe starting October 2016. More details will be revealed at IFA 2016.
