Movie Review: The Impossible

The Impossible is an account of a family caught, with tens of thousands of strangers, in the mayhem of one of the worst natural catastrophes of our time, the December 26, 2004 earthquake and tsunami that devastated Southeast Asia. Top-billed by Naomi Watts and Ewan McGregor, this movie could easily become a classic. Sadly, despite its amazing true-to-life plot, the movie didn't perform that well in the box office. Nevertheless, it is a great movie.

the impossible

The story is about a British family on Christmas holiday at a beach resort in Thailand that is torn apart when a deadly tsunami devastates the area. The film follows the seriously wounded Maria and her eldest son Lucas as they struggle to safety, not knowing whether Maria's husband and their two younger sons are dead or alive.

This movie is touching, heartwarming, tear-jerking, and impossibly amazing. Just when you thought nothing can go wrong on a Christmas holiday, better think again. The genre of the movie is drama/thriller. The limited effects were put to good use. The actors were great especially Naomi Watts and Tom Holland. I really want Naomi to win Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in this year's Oscars. I just enjoyed watching this film so much. It's been a while since I last watched a very good film like this. Must watch, guys!

RATING: 5 out of 5 STARS

Til then...
