Restaurant Review: Shi Lin
My friends and I were craving for Chinese food and since we were in Rockwell area, we decided to try Shi Lin. I've seen and passed by Shi Lin in The Podium but I haven't really seen their menu. The place looks nice with all those Chinese-inspired decorations. You could also see the cooks preparing the dishes. Even without looking at the menu, I couldn't help but think that the meals could be pricey. As for the menu, they had a lot of Chinese food to offer... from dumplings to noodles to rice meals to desserts to house-brewed iced tea. To my surprise, the food was really expensive. They were just priced right. The presentation is good and the food is served hot. We definitely tried its best-seller, the Xiao Long Bao (steamed dumpling with soup inside). We also tried Salt and Pepper Squid and Spicy Vegetables and Pork Wonton. I also got to try their Organic Passion Berry Iced Tea, which smells really good and not so sweet, really.
I wish I could have ordered more but I was on strict diet. They offer other seemingly yummy meals like braised beef noodles, fried chicken chop, spicy spare ribs, etc. Maybe next time I'll order them. By the way, the crew were very nice and accommodating. All in all, I can say that the resto is good, offering a lot of authentic Chinese food...but hey, it could be better. =)
