Some tech enthusiasts may have raised their eyebrows when HTC released the 4-UltraPixel Camera with the HTC One, bucking the trend of 8-MP or 13-MP camera sensors for flagship models. But this hasn't stopped the Taiwanese tech company in releasing another flagship model with the same 4-UltraPixel Camera. Meet the HTC Butterfly S, which is a significant update over its predecessor, the HTC Butterfly.

The HTC Butterfly S is powered by a 1.9GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 and has 2GB RAM. It sports a 5" 1080p Full HD display with a pixel density of 440 ppi. Internal storage is 16GB, and as is usually
the case, HTC has teamed up with Dropbox to provide 25GB of free cloud
storage for 2 years. MicroSD card support is surprisingly available too.

At the back of the Butterfly S, there's the same UltraPixel camera as
the HTC One. It packs a 1/3" BSI sensor size with a 2.0 micron pixel
size and wide F/2.0 aperture. Since the smartphone is running Android
4.2 Jelly Bean with the latest Sense UI 5 skin on top, there's HTC Zoe
with HTC Share and Video highlights as well.

Measuring 144.5 mm x 70.5 mm x 10.6 mm, the Butterfly S weighs 160 grams and
is significantly thicker than its predecessor. But for good reason,
there's a 3,200 mAh battery included, a lot bigger than the original Butterfly's
2,020 mAh unit. Connectivity-wise, everything is covered including Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, DLNA, NFC, GPS.
The HTC Butterfly S is expected to debut in Taiwan for NT $22,900 (US
$766) in July. Are you excited about HTC's new flagship?
