Alcatel Debuts OneTouch IDOL X+, POP C9, POP 7/8 Devices

Alcatel has launched a slew of new Android devices at this year's CES. Among them is the flagship OneTouch IDOL X+, which is the first to use MediaTek's octa-core processor. It has a 5-inch Full HD IPS LCD display with a Black Crystal touch panel, Dragontrail glass, and oleophobic coating. It runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, and has 16GB of internal storage and 2GB RAM. It sports a 13.1-MP camera with LED flash and comes with a pair of JBL earphones.

Then there's the Alcatel POP C9, which is a midrange Android 4.2 Jelly Bean phablet. The POP C9 comes with a 5.5-inch display (540 x 960 pixels) IPS LCD display and a 1.3GHz quad-core processor. It also sports an 8-MP primary camera, 4GB of internal storage, and 1GB RAM. Unlike the high-end OneTouch IDOL X+, the POP C9 comes in a wide variety of colors, which has optional flip-cover accessories.

Aside from the new smartphone and phablet, Alcatel has also introduced two new Android 4.2 tablets: the POP 7 and POP 8. The POP 7 packs a 7-inch display with TFT LCD technology (1024 x 600 pixel resolution). It has a 1.3GHz dual-core processor, 1GB RAM, and 4GB of expandable internal storage. It packs a 2-MP back camera and a 0.3-MP front camera. In terms of connectivity, Bluetooth 4.0, GPRS/EDGE, UMTS, and HSPA+ are all on-board. Like the POP C9, it has an optional flip-cover accessory.

Then there's the larger POP 8 tablet, which packs an 8-inch display with a 1280 x 800 pixel resolution and IPS LCD display technology. A quad-core processor clocked in at 1.3GHz ticks inside. It has 4GB of expandable internal storage and 1GB RAM. Like the POP 7, it has an optional flip-cover accessory.
