Samsung Launches the Galaxy Camera 2

Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy Camera 2, which is successor to the highly popular Galaxy Camera. The Galaxy Camera 2 sports the same 1/2.3" BSI sensor with 16.3 MP effective resolution of its predecessor. A pop-up xenon flash, 21x optical zoom lens with optical image stabilization, and a dedicated AF light are still on board. Like its predecessor, the Galaxy Camera 2 also shoots videos of 1080p@30fps, 720p@60fps and 512p@120fps quality. It still uses the same 4.8-inch Super Clear 720p HD LCD display with 306ppi (pixel density).

The upgrades on the Galaxy Camera 2 can be seen mainly in its innards. It now comes with a faster quad-core processor clocked at 1.6GHz, 2GB RAM, and 8GB internal storage, expandable via a microSD card. It also now has NFC connectivity, a bigger 2,000 mAh battery, and runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. Unfortunately, the Galaxy Camera 2 does not have a SIM slot, taking away cellular data support. Pricing and availability are yet to be announced.
