Oppo Find 7 Smartphone Takes 50-MP Photos
Oppo has finally unveiled the Find 7 smartphone/phablet. It boasts taking 50-MP photos with its rear camera. Interestingly, the camera sensor is actually a
13-MP Sony IMX214 CMOS, so the 50-MP resolution is just a result of a software trick. Dubbed as Pure
Image 2.0, this is what enables the 50-MP creation: the camera takes 10 consecutive shots very quickly, and then
it automatically picks four best shots to combine them into a
50-MP still. An image weighs in at 10MB each. The Find 7 also has a 1/3.06-inch IMX214 sensor that has a 480
megapixel-per-second bandwidth and a bright f/2.0
aperture.

The Oppo Find 7 also features 4K video recording at 30 fps,
slow-motion video at up to 100 fps, long exposure for up to 32 seconds,
and HDR-capable GIF creation. It also has a 5-MP f/2.0 front-facing camera. It is one of the first smartphones to pack a 5.5" QHD (2560 x 1440
pixels) display with a whopping pixel density of 538ppi.

The Oppo Find 7 will come in two versions. The $499 Find 7a packs a 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800, 2GB RAM, 16GB of
internal storage, a 2,800mAh battery, and a 1080p display while the more
premium $599 Find 7 features a faster 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801, 3GB of RAM,
32GB of storage, a 3,000mAh battery, and a quad HD (2,560 x 1,440)
display. For both models, you get Gorilla Glass 3 protection, microSD expansion (up to 128GB), micro-SIM
slot, LTE radio, a pulsing "skyline" notification light, MaxxAudio plus Dirac HD audio enhancement, and
"VOOC" rapid charging (you go from zero to 75 percent in just half an
hour). The Find 7 will ship with the Color OS 1.2, which is based on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.
