The New HTC One M8 (2014) Comes w/ Duo Camera
The HTC One's successor has finally arrived. Clad in the same anodized aluminum chassis, the new HTC One M8 (2014) is still a looker. It packs a gorgeous Full HD display, Duo Camera setup, and HTC's proprietary Sense UI 6.0 (Android KitKat 4.4.2) along with Zoe, BoomSound, and BlinkFeed.

Measuring 146.4mm x 70.6mm x 9.35mm, the new HTC One is taller and wider than the previous One but is more or less the same when it comes to thickness. It packs the same Full HD Super LCD 3 display of its predecessor and is also protected by Gorilla Glass 3. Under the hood is a 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 chipset, 2GB RAM, and a 2,600 mAh battery. It now comes with a memory card slot, which can take cards up to 128GB, in addition to its 32GB of internal storage. The SIM card it uses has changed from micro-SIM to nano-SIM, same with the ones used by more recent iPhones.

At the back of the new HTC One are two cameras, as well as two LED flashes while there is a 5-MP selfie camera on front. The main camera at the back is basically the same UltraPixel camera seen on the previous generation (4-MP UltraPixel and 1080p Full HD video recording). This time around, there seems to be another camera at the top, which is actually a depth sensor. The purpose of the depth sensor is to come up with cool tricks and post-production effects, which makes photos look fancy. It lets go of optical image stabilization and makes do with smart stabilization.
Meanwhile, the front-facing camera has been bumped up to 5-MP with an f/2.0 wide-angle lens, BSI sensor,
HDR capability, and 1080p video capture.

The new HTC One has support for dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, and LTE. It also has a battery saving feature, similar to that of the Galaxy S5, called Extreme Power Saving Mode. It is available in gray, silver, and gold color options and now sells in the US and the UK. It costs $650 off-contract, whereas the on-contract price
ranges from $200 to $250, depending on the carrier. The Google Play Edition of the device is
available in the Play Store for $700 while the Developer Edition
will be sold on HTC's website for $650.
