The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is a 2014 American superhero film featuring the Marvel Comics character Spider-Man. It serves as a sequel to the 2012 film The Amazing Spider-Man. It stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Paul Giamatti, and Sally Field. It was directed by Marc Webb and released by Columbia Pictures.

The story goes like this: In The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) finds that his greatest battle is about to begin. For Peter Parker, there's no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: Oscorp.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is of action, adventure, fantasy genre, which runs for approximately 142 minutes. It's rated PG-13 in most countries for sequences of sci-fi action and violence. This sequel is actually much better than the first movie. It combines different elements such as those of love, family, friendship, ambition and revenge. Also, the chemistry between Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy has grown, which makes their love story more believable. While there were less action scenes compared to other superhero movies, the use of CGI and other special effects has been taken to the next level. And seeing those effects in 3D was just awesome. I also noticed the number of product placements Sony had in the movie. And yes, even Gwen Stacy's Revlon makeup took center stage. If there's one thing I was sad about, it's the tragedy that happened towards the end of the movie. All in all, I can say that it's a great adventure movie that everyone must see. It is easily one of the best superhero movies to date in my list. The film is available in Dolby Atmos, 2D, 3D, and IMAX 3D.
RATING: 4.5 out of 5 STARS
