Transformers: Age of Extinction is the fourth installment of the American science fiction action film, Transformers. A sequel to Transformers: Dark of the Moon, the film takes place five years after the invasion of Chicago. It stars actors Mark Wahlberg, Stanley Tucci, and Kelsey Grammer. Like the other Transformers films, this one is directed by Michael Bay and produced by Steven Spielberg. It features an entirely new cast of human characters and is the first in the series to feature the Dinobots. It also marks the return of Autobots like Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Ratchet, Leadfoot, and Brains.

The story goes like this: After defeating Sentinel Prime and Megatron's army in Chicago, the Autobots have gone into hiding after the government deemed all transformers as threats, and thus, began to hunt them all down. The government has thus replaced the Autobots with their own transformers using technology from the fallen transformers. Meanwhile, a mechanic, his daughter, and his daughter's boyfriend become dragged into the conflict upon discovering Optimus Prime in their possession, and all the while, a mysterious new enemy, Lockdown, sets his eyes on earth.

Transformers: Age of Extinction is of action, adventure, sci-fi genre, which runs for approximately 165 minutes. It's rated PG-13 in most countries for intense sequences of sci-fi violence and action, language and brief innuendo. Fans of the Transformers movie franchise will surely like this one as it's still packed with a lot of action scenes. Moreover, the return of several Autobots will surely get the fans excited. The use of special effects was taken to the next level as exhibited by the new breed of transformium-powered transformers. However, there is a lot of product placements in the film, which is annoying. Even so, the movie is awesome and would surely be a box office hit. The film is available in IMAX 3D, 3D, and Dolby Atmos.

RATING: 4 out of 5 STARS
