Midrange LG G3 Beat Goes Official

LG has officially announced the G3 Beat, which is a midrange variant of its G3 flagship smartphone. It comes with many of the G3 features but cuts down on some, including the size. The G3 Beat sports a 720p HD 5-inch display with a pixel density of 294 ppi. Unlike the G3, which is powered by the latest Snapdragon chipset, the G3 Beat comes with a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, just 1GB RAM and just 8GB of internal storage. It also packs a microSD card slot for memory expansion.

In the imaging department, the G3 Beat has an 8-MP rear camera with LED flash, along with the G3's laser autofocus. A 1.3-MP front camera is also on board. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, A-GPS with Glonass, LTE, and NFC. Overall, it measures 137.7mm x 69.6mm x 10.3mm and weighs about 134 grams. It comes with Android 4.4.2 KitKat out of the box and is powered by a user-replaceable 2,540 mAh battery. It is available in three color variants: metallic black, silk white, and shine gold, and will be globally available in the weeks to come.
