LG G Watch R: Moto 360 Rival Gets Unveiled

The LG G Watch R is now official and it is obviously a competitor to the upcoming Moto 360 smartwatch. The G Watch R is arguably better looking than the Motorola smartwatch since it looks like an actual watch but other factors such as price, release date, battery life, and software extras will definitely play a part. The LG G Watch R is the second Android Wear smartwatch from LG and the world's first to sport a perfectly round display. It packs a 1.3-inch Plastic OLED (P-OLED) display with a 320 x 320 pixel resolution. It is also IP67-certified like many other smartwatches, thus being dust- and water-resistant. Like the Samsung Gear smartwatches, it will feature a heart rate monitor powered by a built-in PPG (photoplethysmography) sensor. Its other features include a 1.2 GHz Snapdragon processor, 512MB RAM, 4GB internal storage, and a 410 mAh battery. It will come in a stainless steel frame with an interchangeable calf skin leather strap. It will be launched in selected markets in Q4 of 2014 and its pricing is yet to be announced.
