Restaurant Review: 26th St. Bistro by The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf

26th St. Bistro by The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf is not your typical CBTL coffee shop. They offer a proper dining experience instead of just coffee, tea, and pastry. They serve wine and beer too. They are located at the G/F Net Lima Building, 26th Street corner 5th Avenue in Fort Bonifacio and at the 5/F East Wing of Shangri-La Plaza in Ortigas. We dined at the latter.


The bistro can probably accommodate about 30 or so individuals. Since it is inside the mall, the place is air-conditioned. Inside, it has the typical CBTL ambiance (wood all over) but the tables are more suited for dining. The waiters are accommodating and knowledgeable about the menu as well.

Seafood Marinara

Roast Chicken with Spiced Red Bell Pepper Sauce

We ordered seafood marinara and roast chicken with spiced red bell pepper sauce. We asked them to equally divide the food into two, which they did. The presentation of the food was great as well. The seafood marinara was really good considering I don't normally choose tomato-based sauces over white sauce or pesto. The chicken seemed uncooked inside as there were still traces of blood. The meat was not tender either. The mashed potato under it did not taste good as well. We could just hope that this was an isolated case.

26th St. Bistro by The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf is perfect for young professionals and group of friends who like to dine in a restaurant with a coffee shop ambiance. Budget needed is about PhP300 per person on average. They accept cash and credit card transactions. They are open daily from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM (mall hours vary depending on the day). Parking is available at the basement of Shangri-La Plaza East Wing.
