The All-Metal Samsung Galaxy A3 and A5

Following the release of the Galaxy Alpha, Samsung has launched the Galaxy A series of smartphones. These are basically smartphones with an all-metal unibody . The Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A3 were among the first to be announced. The Galaxy A5 packs a 5-inch Super AMOLED HD display running on a 1.2GHz quad-core CPU and 2GB RAM. There’s also 16GB of built-in memory, which can be further expanded via microSD card slot. It sports a 13-MP main camera, 5-MP front-facing camera, and LTE connectivity. It measures 139.3 mm x 69.7 mm x 6.7 mm and weighs just 123 grams. It will be powered by a 2,300 mAh battery and boots Android 4.4 KitKat with TouchWiz on top. The Galaxy A5 makes for a premium midrange Android device.

At the lower end of the spectrum is the Galaxy A3. It packs a 4.5-inch Super AMOLED screen of qHD resolution. It packs an 8-MP primary camera, 5-MP front-facing snapper, and LTE connectivity. Like the Galaxy A5, it will come with Android 4.4 KitKat with TouchWiz UI on top. Measuring 130.1 mm x 65.5 mm x 6.9 mm and weighing just 110.3 grams, it is pretty svelte and light for an entry-level device. A 1,900mAh battery pack powers the smartphone.
