BLU Introduces 7 New Android Smartphones

BLU has launched several devices in the United States - that is 7 smartphones to be exact. These include the Vivo Air, Studio Energy, Studio X, Studio X Plus, Studio G, Life One, and Life One XL. Among the most notables ones is the Vivo Air, which is just 5.1 mm thin but is actually a rebranded Gionee Elife S5.1 handset. It features a 4.8-inch Super AMOLED display of 720p HD resolution. It is powered by a 1.7GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6592 processor with 1GB RAM and 16GB of internal memory. It packs an 8-MP rear camera, a 5-MP front-facing camera, and a 2,100mAh battery. BLU Vivo Air runs Android 4.4 KitKat and will be sold unlocked for $199.

Up next is the BLU Studio Energy, which has a 5-inch screen of 720p HD display. It touts that it can last for up to 4 days of normal usage and 5 days of standby time because of its 5,000mAh battery capacity. It packs a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582 processor, an 8-MP rear camera, 1GB RAM, and 8GB of expandable internal storage. It will run Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box and will cost $179. The BLU Studio Energy will be available in late January 2015.

Other BLU Studio handsets like the Studio X, Studio X Plus, and Studio G are all powered by a  quad-core 1.3 GHz MediaTek MT6582 processor. The Studio X and Studio X Plus both feature a 720p display, 8-MP primary camera, 1GB RAM, and 8GB of expandable internal storage. They only differ in screen size and pricing as the former has a 5-inch screen and costs $129 while the latter has a 5.5-inch screen and costs $149 dollars. The Studio G is more of an entry-level device, with a 5-inch display of 480 x 854 pixel resolution, 512MB RAM, and 4G of expandable internal storage. It costs just $89. All three Studio smartphones will run Android 4.4 KitKat at launch but will be updated to Lollipop.

BLU also made sure that it has handsets that are Snapdragon-powered. These are the Life One and Life One XL. Both smartphones feature a 64-bit, quad-core 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 410 chipset, LTE, Android 4.4 KitKat, 13-MP rear cameras, 5-MP front-facing cameras, 1GB RAM, and 8GB of expandable internal storage. The Life One sports a 5-inch  display of 720p HD resolution while the Life One XL offers a bigger 5.5-inch display of 720p HD resolution. The former costs $179 while the latter costs $199. Both handsets will be available in March 2014 and will be updated to Android 5.0 Lollipop.  Blu says that the Studio X, Studio XL, Studio G, Life One, and Life One XL will be updated to Android 5.0 Lollipop. All BLU smartphones will be sold on Amazon and will also be available on other retailers.
