Gionee Elife E8 Captures 100-Megapixel Images

The Gionee Elife E8 phablet goes official and is a beast not just in size but also in features. This Android Lollipop-powered device packs a 6-inch AMOLED display of Quad HD resolution. That translates to a pixel density of 490 ppi. Not only that, the Elife E8 is equipped with the latest 64-bit quad-core MediaTek Helio X10 processor clocked at 2GHz. It also comes with 3GB RAM and 64GB of native storage, expandable via a microSD card.

This high-end phablet is also well equipped in the camera department as it packs a 23.7-MP sensor, which is capable of producing images of up to 100-MP resolution. The camera also has phase detection auto-focus, a six-element lens protected by sapphire crystal, optical image stabilization (OIS), True Tone LED flash, lossless zoom, and the ability to record 4K videos. The Gionee Elife E8 costs a hefty $645, which will also be sold as Allview X2 Xtreme in some regions.
