Huawei Mate S Debuts w/ Force Touch

Huawei has finally announced its latest high-end smartphone - the Mate S, which comes with the new Force Touch technology. The Huawei Mate S is basically a metal-clad phablet that packs a 5.5-inch 2.5D AMOLED display of 1080p Full HD resolution. This results in a pixel density of 401 pixels per inch. The screen is also protected by a curved Corning Gorilla Glass 4. With the Force Touch technology, the panel of the Mate S is able to distinguish between a light tap and a harder press.


The Huawei Mate S is powered by the new Kirin 935 chipset coupled with 3GB RAM and 32GB/64GB/128GB of internal storage. In the camera department, it packs a 13-MP primary camera with dual-tone, dual-LED flash, an f/2.0 lens, and optical image stabilization (OIS). The main camera also has full manual mode with ISO adjustments, exposure compensation, etc. An 8-MP selfie camera with soft LED flash and an f/2.4 lens adorns the front of the device.

Among its connectivity features are Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC, FM Radio, and LTE support. It also has a built-in fingerprint scanner. The Huawei Mate S runs Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box with the EMUI 3.1 on top. A 2,700 mAh battery will keep its lights on. It will be available in several colors: titanium grey, mystique champagne, prestige gold and coral pink, in more than 30 countries starting September 15. Its price starts at 649 euros. Interested?
