Entry-Level ZTE Grand X3 & Avid Plus

Two new entry-level smartphones have been showcased by ZTE at this year's CES. These are the Grand X3 and Avid Plus. The ZTE Grand X3 is meant for Cricket Wireless subscribers and comes with a 5.5-inch display of 720p HD resolution. Ticking inside it is a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 processor with 2GB RAM and 16GB of expandable internal storage. It has an 8-MP primary camera and a 2-MP front-facing snapper. A 3,080 mAh battery will keep its lights on and it runs Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box. Interestingly, it also comes with the USB Type-C port, which is common only to high-end devices. The Grand X3 retails for $130 without a contract.

Meanwhile, the ZTE Avid Plus is a more affordable option at only $115 off contract at T-Mobile and MetroPCs. It packs a 5-inch LCD of 854 x 480 pixel resolution. It is powered by a quad-core processor with 1GB RAM and 8GB of expandable internal storage. It has a 5-MP primary camera and a 2-MP selfie shooter. A 2,300 mAh battery will keep it going and the smartphone will run Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box.
