Metal-Clad Meizu M3S w/ Fingerprint Scanner

Meizu has updated its budget M3 smartphone with the launch of the M3S. It now sports a sandblasted metal chassis for a premium look. It now packs an mTouch 2.1 fingerprint scanner as well on its home button. A larger 3,020 mAh battery is also in tow. All these at a very affordable price of $106 for the base model and $136 for the higher end model.

Like the regular M3, the Meizu M3S packs a 5-inch display of 720p HD resolution, protected by a layer of 2.5D glass. This translates to a pixel density of 296 ppi. Ticking inside is an octa-core MediaTek MT6750 chipset with 2GB/3GB RAM and 16GB/32GB of internal storage. It runs the latest iteration of the Flyme OS, which is based on Android.

Expected launch date is on June 18, 2016 and the M3S will come in four colors: gold, gray, silver, and pink. There's no word yet if it will be available outside of China.
