Android Nougat-Running LG V20 Packs Dual Cameras

LG has announced the successor to last year's V10, which featured a secondary display and dual front-facing cameras. Meet the LG V20, which features an improved secondary display, better sound quality, larger battery and dual rear cameras. The LG V20 comes in a lightweight aluminum alloy body with MIL-STD-810 compliance for shock resistance. Up front, the smartphones packs a 5.7-inch IPS display of Quad HD resolution. Above it is a secondary display for notifications, which is much longer than that of its predecessor and much brighter at 68 nits. In terms of performance, the V20 is equipped with a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset with 4GB RAM and 64GB of expandable internal storage as a base option. It is the first smartphone to run Android 7.0 Nougat with LG's latest UX on top. It will come with multi-window support, Doze mode, quick notifications management and a quick toggle area.

In the camera department, the V20 has taken some cues from the G5 as it now features dual camera at the back. There is a 16-MP main module with optical image stabilization (OIS), f/1.8 aperture, laser auto-focus, phase detection auto-focus, contrast auto-focus and dual-LED flash. The second 8-MP rear camera features 135-degree wide-angle lens and f/1.9 aperture. There is also a 5-MP front camera for selfies, which has a 120-degree wide-angle lens. The V20 also features Steady Record 2.0, a video stabilization system from Qualcomm that relies on real-time gyro-based electronic image stabilization. As for the sound quality, the V20 features a quad-DAC system for clearer sound. LG has even partnered with premium audio gear maker Bang & Olufsen to provide fine tuning to the sound. The V20 will also come with a set of B&O earbuds in the box.

The LG V20 uses USB Type-C and comes with rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. A bigger and removable 3,200 mAh battery, which supports QuickCharge 3.0, will keep the phablet's lights on. The V20 will come in titan, pink and silver color options but its official pricing has yet to be announced.
