In Germany, Huawei unveiled the metal-clad Mate 9. It packs a large 5.9-inch IPS LCD of 1080p Full HD resolution, covered with 2.5D glass. The Huawei Mate 9's highlight is definitely its cameras. The phablet sports a Leica-branded dual-camera setup (one 12-MP sensor with an f/2.2 aperture and another 20-MP monochrome sensor with an f/2.2 aperture) with optical image stabilization (OIS), 4-in-1 hybrid auto-focus system (laser, contrast detection, depth, and phase detection), Hybrid Zoom, 4K video capture, and dual-tone, dual-LED flash. As for the front camera, there is an 8-MP sensor with an f/1.9 aperture and auto-focus. All these goodies will be powered by a 4,000 mAh battery with Doze mode and Super Charge support. The Mate 9 will come in six colors: Space Gray, Moonlight Silver, Champagne Gold, Mocha Brown, Ceramic White, and Black, and will retail for €699.

But this was not the only phablet that got launched. Huawei also released a Porsche Design version of the Mate 9. Instead of sporting a 1080p Full HD LCD screen, the Mate 9 Porsche Design will come with a curved AMOLED display of Quad HD resolution (a la Galaxy S7 Edge). Its RAM has also been bumped up to 6GB and storage to 256GB. The fingerprint scanner has also been moved to the front. The rest of the specs is similar to that of the regular Mate 9 but will cost a whopping €1,395.
