Samsung Unveils Galaxy A Series 2017

Samsung started 2017 by unveiling three new smartphones from its Galaxy A Series. Introducing the 2017 iterations of the Galaxy A7, Galaxy A5, and the Galaxy A3, which are expected to become available this January. All three smartphones come with an all-metal body, a fingerprint scanner, an IP68 certification for water and dust resistance, a USB Type-C port, and Android 6.0 Marshmallow with LTE and Samsung Pay support.

The largest of the bunch is the Samsung Galaxy A7 (2017), which comes with a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display of 1080p Full HD resolution. It is powered by an octa-core Exynos 7880 chipset with 3GB RAM and 32GB of expandable internal storage. Imaging-wise, it has a 16-MP primary camera and another 16-MP front-facing shooter. Both cameras feature a bright f/1.9 aperture. A 3,600 mAh battery, with fast charging support, will keep the phablet's lights on.

Then we have the Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017), which packs a 5.2-inch Super AMOLED display of 1080p Full HD resolution. It utilizes the same processor and storage options of the bigger Galaxy A7 and also comes with two 16-MP cameras. Its battery capacity is also less than its larger sibling, which is rated 3,000 mAh. Lastly, we have the Samsung Galaxy A3 (2017), which sports a 4.7-inch Super AMOLED display of 720p HD resolution. It also has an octa-core CPU but only with 2GB RAM and 16GB of expandable internal storage. When it comes to photography, it has a 13-MP rear camera and an 8-MP front-facing camera. Its battery capacity is rated 2,350 mAh. All three smartphones will come in Blue, Black, Pink, and Gold color variants. Official pricing has yet to be announced.
