Huawei Mate 10 & Mate 10 Pro w/ Dual Leica Cameras

Huawei recently launched the Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro. The Huawei Mate 10 is definitely a flagship phablet with a 5.9-inch Gorilla Glass-protected IPS LCD of Quad HD resolution. It maintains a conventional 16:9 aspect ratio and is HDR10 compliant. Under the hood is a home-brewed octa-core Kirin 970 AI chipset with Mali-G72 MP12 GPU. It has 4GB RAM and 64GB of expandable storage. The Mate 10 also did not scrimp with battery as it packs a behemoth 4,000 mAh battery, which you can top up quickly through Huawei SuperCharge.

When it comes to photography, the Mate 10 boasts of Leica-branded dual cameras with a very bright f/1.6 aperture. There is a 12-MP color sensor and another 20-MP black and white sensor, which offers 2x lossless zoom and 4K video recording. The dual camera setup is also assisted by optical image stabilization (OIS), laser auto-focus, phase-detection auto-focus, contrast and depth focus, and a dual-tone, dual-LED flash. The Mate 10 runs Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box with EMUI 8.0 on top. The phablet can also connect to a DisplayPort monitor for a desktop-like experience. It has a front-mounted fingerprint scanner and an 8-MP front-facing camera. You'll be happy to know that a 3.5 mm audio jack is still on board. Available in four colors: Mocha Brown, Black, Champagne Gold, and Pink Gold, the Huawei Mate 10 will retail for €699 this October 2017.

Meanwhile, the Huawei Mate 10 Pro is not necessarily just a larger variant of the Mate 10. While the Mate 10 Pro packs a larger 6-inch OLED HDR10-compliant display protected by Gorilla Glass, it resolution maxes out at 1080p Full HD. Moreover, it comes with a tall 18:9 screen aspect ratio. It shares the Kirin 970 chipset of the regular Mate 10 but the Mate 10 Pro is also available with 6GB RAM and 128GB of non-expandable storage. It too runs Android 8.0 Oreo with EMUI 8.0 on top. Due to its tall screen, the fingerprint sensor has been relocated to the back part just below the dual Leica cameras. Interestingly, it lacks the 3.5 mm audio jack but comes with IP67 dust and water resistance. The Mate 10 Pro comes in four colors: Midnight Blue, Titanium Gray, Mocha, Brown, and Pink Gold and will retail for €799 in mid-November 2017
