Measuring 170.7 mm x 82.6 mm x 9 mm and weighing 213 grams, the Oppo N1 is not the sveltest device around. It has a 5.9-inch IPS display of 1080p Full HD resolution, which has a pixel density of 377 ppi. The display is also super sensitive and can be used with gloves on or even with pencils and pens. The phablet is made of plastic and will be available in black and white. It will come with either 16GB or 32GB of internal memory but there's no microSD card slot. The phablet packs a 1.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon 600, Adreno 320 GPU and 2GB RAM. A 3,610 mAh battery will power this behemoth device.

The camera is one of Oppo N1's strengths. It has a 13-MP camera with CMOS sensor, f/2.0 aperture, and Oppo & Fujitsu's IPS imaging chip. It also has a 6-element lens design, which is a first in the Android realm. The camera module, which has a dual-LED flash, can also rotate 206 degrees allowing it to act as a front-facing shooter as well. Oppo has also created special plug lens that can be used for the N1.

The N1 relies heavily on gestures. In fact, the area below the camera is touch sensitive. It is called O-Touch and depending on the gesture that you make, the phone can either play the next song, browse the web or do a customized action. The supported gestures include long press, sliding, and double tapping. Oppo has also made a special Bluetooth camera accessory dubbed O-Clickm which can operate the camera from 50 meters away. It's included in the retail box of the Oppo N1.

The Oppo N1 can also run pure Android with the help of CyanogenMod, the world’s most popular aftermarket Android operating system. International versions of the N1 will also come with either the Color OS (with the ability to flash CyanogenMod directly from stock recovery) or the CyanogenMod Edition, which makes it the first CyanogenMod hardware product in the world.

Connectivity-wise, the Oppo N1 sports dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, and a tachograph for recording speed while driving. Oppo has also partnered with 2 major NFC payment systems in China to allow paying for transportation as well as other goods just by using the N1. The Oppo N1 will be priced at $571. The Oppo N1 can already be pre-ordered thru China Mobile and will arrive in October. There's no information yet on worldwide availability.
