The Nokia Asha 503, 502 and 500

Nokia has refreshed its Asha lineup of feature phones. Following on the footsteps of the highly popular Asha 501, are the Asha 500, Asha 502, and Asha 503. All of which are budget phones and would be priced under $100, pre-subsidy.

The Asha 500, 502, and 503 will still come in bright CMYK shells but are now embedded in a clear outer husk. It looks like they’re trapped in ice. All three will run on the Asha OS, which was highly influenced by the MeeGo platform. The home screen system is split into a traditional app launcher and the “Fastlane”, which shows not only the most recent activities, messaging, multimedia, and apps, but allows you to interact with them.

Both the Asha 500 and 502 are 2G-only devices while the Asha 503 steps up to 3.5G and could make for an ideal entry-level smartphone, capable of competing with the cheapest of droids. All three phones will go on sale in Africa, Asia-Pacific, Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East from Q4 2013.
