Nokia Announces the Lumia 1520 Flagship Phablet

Nokia has just released its first phablet, the Nokia Lumia 1520. This is also the first Windows Phone device to feature a 1080p Full HD display and the quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor. The Lumia 1520 packs a 6-inch ClearBlack IPS LCD screen with a pixel density of 368 ppi. The screen is protected by Gorilla Glass 2 and features Super Sensitive touch, which enables the screen to recognize fingers even with gloves on. In terms of its exterior, it looks very much like the Nokia 1020, which features a polycarbonate plastic body.

At 8.7 mm, it is one of the slimmer phablets available out there. However, it weighs 209g which is heavy for a phablet of that size. Regardless, it has a 3,400 mAh battery capacity, which allows up to 32 days of standby time and 124 hours of music playback. The Lumia 1520 has 2GB RAM, 32GB built-in storage and a microSD card slot to expand it. On the back of the Lumia 1520, you get a 20-MP PureView camera with OIS, which uses a 6-element lens Zeiss optics and a 1/2.5 inch BSI sensor. Like the Lumia 1020, it also makes use of oversampling for lossless zooming. There is no xenon flash but it has a dual-LED flash. Video recording maxes out at 1080p FullHD @ 30fps.
