800,000 Samsung Galaxy Gear Units Sold in 2 Months

Smartwatches may still be relatively new in the market but that has not stopped Samsung from selling over 800,000 units of the Galaxy Gear in just 2 months. There are several factors that contributed to the impressive sales of the Samsung smartwatch. First, the Galaxy Gear have had its first custom ROM, which features Bluetooth tethering, live wallpaper support, and video recording up to 60 seconds, without the need to be paired to a smartphone. Second, the Galaxy Gear can be bought for less than its $300 price tag by buying it together with the Galaxy Note 3.

Several other developers have been developing custom ROMs for the Galaxy Gear. Soon, it may be able to stand on its own. For now, it has gotten some native apps, which include a fully featured web browser.
