Instagram & Waze Now Available on Windows Phone 8

Top apps Instagram and Waze finally arrive on the Windows Phone Store. The popular photo sharing app Instagram is still in its beta version but nevertheless available for download for Windows Phone 8 devices. Among the app's missing features include support for video capture and video uploading. Photo tagging and viewing maps from geotagged photos are a no go as well. To partly make up for these shortcomings, Instagram for Windows Phone 8 has been optimized to support Live Tiles with data refresh. Soon, the app will fully be at par with its Android and iOS counterpart.


The influx of new apps is not yet over for the Windows Phone 8 platform as popular traffic and navigation app Waze has gone out of beta and is now available for download on the Windows Phone Store. Waze, which is now owned by Google, brings crowd-sourced real-time information for road conditions, shortcuts, traffic jams and gas prices.


To date, the Windows Phone Store has more than 190,000 apps with an accumulated app downloads of 3 billion. Monthly revenue from paid apps is also up to 181% from last year.
