Sony Sold Over 1-M PlayStation 4 Units in 24 Hours

Things are shaping up well for Sony this year. The Japanese company managed to sell more than 1 million units of its PlayStation 4 console within 24 hours in US and Canada alone. This also puts Sony in track of achieving 3 million units sold by the end of 2013 and as much as 5 million units sold at the end of its fiscal year in March 2014.

According to Jack Tretton, president and CEO of Sony US computer entertainment division,

This is a marathon, not a sprint, but getting out to a nice start is a good thing...That hurdle has been cleared. We’re very, very confident we’re in great shape.

Only time can tell whether or not Sony can sustain the momentum of its sales as the Xbox One is about to be launched by Microsoft globally on November 22.
