Panasonic to Launch the First 4K Resolution Tablet

Panasonic is set to debut the world's first 4K UltraHD resolution tablet in the US this coming January 2014. At 475 mm x 332.7 mm x 12.7 mm and weighing only 2.4kg, the Panasonic ToughPad is relatively svelte and portable.

The Panasonic Toughpad 4K UT-MB5 features a 20-inch IPS display of 3840 x 2560 resolution with a 15:10 aspect ratio. Ticking inside is a 1.9GHz Intel Core i5 CPU with Turbo Boost up to 2.9GHz, NVIDIA GeForce GT 745M GPU, 256GB SSD, 8GB RAM and a 720p HD capable webcam. There’s also the full range of connectivity options available such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and USB 3.0. Battery life is rated at 2 hours of continuous usage, which is not good at all. It would cost an arm and a leg with a $5,999 SRP.
