Restaurant Review: House of Lasagna

House of Lasagna is an Italian-inspired restaurant which first opened in J. Abad Santos Street, Little Baguio, San Juan City on February 5, 2009. It was established by Chef Erick Congmon, a young and passionate chef who hails from the famous Congmon clan of Cebu. In April 2012, HoL’s Beef Lasagna was Rated #1 in the Top Ten List of Meat Lasagnas by Spot.ph: Your One-Stop Urban Lifestyle Guide to the Best of Manila. This recognition serves as an affirmation of Chef Erick’s dedication to provide his customers with really good food.


The restaurant is just one floor and kinda cramped, which can accommodate about 20 people. There's nothing extraordinary about its interiors. There's air-conditioning but the lighting is kinda dim. They have a common restroom but its door knob/lock is not working. Seating is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Since the restaurant is small, once it's filled with talking people, you could barely hear one another. Unfortunately, they just have one server, who painstakingly and barely kept up with the demands of the customers.



When it comes to food, they serve lasagna - all kinds of lasagna. There's quite a lot to choose from. We ordered the beef lasagna, chicken lasagna, seafood lasagna, carbonara lasagna, and three-cheese lasagna. Waiting time for food orders averages at 20-30 mins. True enough, the beef lasagna was the best of all. The chicken and carbonara lasagna were good as well. As for the drinks, we just ordered Sola iced tea since their house blend bubble iced tea does not taste good.



House of Lasagna is perfect for families and group of friends who loves pasta especially lasagna. Budget needed is about PhP350 per person. It is open daily from 11 AM to 10 PM. They accept reservations, walk-ins, take-outs, and also offer delivery services. Parking is available outside the restaurant. They also have branches in V-Mall Greenhills and Eton Centris Walk in QC.
